## Overview

AEUR is Anchored Coins' centralized euro stablecoin, backed 1:1 by EUR deposits at Swissquote Bank — but the issuer is in regulated wind-down with no new issuance under MiCAR. AEUR is a stablecoin in hospice care. Anchored Coins has finished consolidating all remaining euro reserves at Swissquote Bank SA — resolving the FlowBank SA bankruptcy exposure that previously trapped 15% of backing — but the wind-down posture is permanent: no new issuance, Binance EEA delisted the token in March 2025, and MiCAR's EUR-issuer requirements close off any reactivation path. The D overall grade is about right for the circumstances: dozens of historical depeg events with four-figure basis-point swings in both directions, and fallback-class DEX liquidity too thin to defend any price. The one quiet signal is that AEUR now rarely strays from the calm end of the stress scale — unsurprising for a token nobody is trading anymore. The reserve is whole and sitting in one of Switzerland's better-regulated banks, but with no mint path to restore the peg and only offchain issuer {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} settling in days, AEUR's story has shifted from {{term:custody}}custodial{{/term}}-failure cautionary tale to regulated wind-down: the rails are intact, the product is over.
