## Overview

AUSD is Agora's centralized dollar stablecoin, redeemable 1:1 and backed by cash, short-dated U.S. {{term:treasury}}Treasury bills{{/term}}, and overnight repos managed by VanEck. The institutional stack is unusually explicit: VanEck manages the reserves, State Street provides {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}} through a bankruptcy-remote Delaware Statutory Trust, and Grant Thornton publishes monthly {{term:attestation}}reserve attestations{{/term}} rather than a token-specific real-time proof feed. Holders still rely on an issuer, an asset manager, a custodian, and a periodic accountant across a multichain footprint. That is a cleaner chain than many fiat-backed dollars offer, but it is still a chain. AUSD holds a N/A overall grade, with the exit pillar leading the card and backing the weakest of the three: the May 2026 report puts most of the reserve in Treasury repurchase agreements with undisclosed counterparties, plus a small stablecoin slice whose issuers are not named. The peg record is long and quiet, with a tail of brief episodes clustered in its first year. AUSD's transparency runs on monthly attestations rather than a live on-chain reserve window.
