## Overview

BUCK was Bridge Building's USDC-redeemable savings stablecoin backed by Strategy Inc. preferred stock (STRC) before its April 2026 wind-down. BUCK billed itself as "the world's first SavingsCoin" — a {{term:yield-bearing}}yield-bearing{{/term}} stablecoin whose treasury was 77% Strategy Inc. perpetual preferred stock, making it less a dollar and more a leveraged view on MicroStrategy's Bitcoin conviction with a dollar wrapper. The yield story (targeting 7% annually via STRC dividends, distributed as monthly rebases) was compelling until you traced the dependency chain: STRC pays dividends from a company whose entire thesis is that Bitcoin goes up forever, which is either a feature or a ticking clock depending on your priors. A BVI-domiciled entity with a single-entity governance model, upgradeable proxy contracts, and a denylist — controlled by ex-Uber and ex-Bird executives — was not the typical stablecoin trust model, though monthly {{term:attestation}}attestations{{/term}} from The Network Firm added a layer of professional accountability. At roughly $2 million in circulation with 261 holders and negligible DEX volume, BUCK ended its life as a micro-cap experiment in whether you can build a savings product on top of someone else's Bitcoin maximalism.
