## Overview

cdxUSD is Cod3x's Base stablecoin minted by permissioned Facilitators against strategy-managed collateral; risk concentrates in those mint permissions. Cod3x USD is a Base stablecoin minted by protocol Facilitators under configured limits and strategies. The model can be powerful, but it also concentrates risk in facilitator permissions, collateral management, and strategy transparency. Pharos adds the Base contract and uses a single high-risk reserve slice until the backing is more granular. Its {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} backstop is documented at the mechanism level, not scored as a liquid public route. Facilitator-managed minting resembles a permissioned {{term:cdp}}CDP{{/term}} variant rather than a public {{term:psm}}PSM{{/term}}.
