## Overview

EURm is Mento's oracle-priced EUR stablecoin on Celo, sharing the Mento reserve at ~136% overcollateralization. Mento Euro (EURm, formerly CEUR) shares the same Mento reserve as Mento Dollar — 56% sUSDS, 22% EURC, 12% CELO, and smaller positions in various stablecoins and ETH — at approximately 136% {{term:overcollateralization}}overcollateralization{{/term}}, stabilized via the BiPoolManager virtual AMM with oracle-enforced EUR rates. As a crypto-backed coin, EURm inherits both the strengths (on-chain transparency, overcollateralization) and weaknesses (crypto collateral volatility, thin secondary markets) of the Mento system. Deployed on Celo (now an Ethereum L2) with real-time on-chain reserve verification, EURm exists primarily to serve Celo's vision of region-specific stablecoins for mobile payments rather than DeFi composability. In the euro stablecoin race dominated by Circle's EURC and MiCA-licensed competitors, EURm's niche is geographic rather than regulatory. {{term:redemption}}Redemption{{/term}} runs through Mento reserve swaps rather than fiat off-ramps.

## Peg Mechanism

Mento V3 reserve-backed FX model: EURm is minted and redeemed against the shared Mento Reserve through Fixed-Price Market Maker (FPMM) pools that quote a Chainlink EUR oracle rate rather than deriving price from pool reserves, with on-chain trading limits and circuit breakers halting trade when the oracle is stale or off-peg.
