## Overview

DEURO is a decentralized euro stablecoin minted from BTC/ETH/crypto vaults using oracle-free Frankencoin-style auctions; rare genuinely decentralized euro. Born from the same codebase as Frankencoin (ZCHF), dEURO takes the contrarian position that price oracles are a point of failure, not a feature — its {{term:cdp}}CDP{{/term}} model uses internal auctions instead of external price feeds, a design that trades capital efficiency for resilience against oracle manipulation. The collateral is omnivorous: 40% WBTC, 25% WETH, 10% XAUT (tokenized gold), and smaller positions in USDC, DAI, UNI, and ZCHF, all valued through auction-based mechanisms on five chains. With governance fully transferred to token holders and no founder control over contracts, dEURO is genuinely decentralized in a euro stablecoin market where that word usually means 'we have a multisig' — one of only two decentralized euro stablecoins tracked by Pharos.
