## Overview

DOC is Money On Chain's rBTC-collateralized USD stablecoin on Rootstock; small, but proof Bitcoin-collateralized dollars are alive outside Ethereum. Dollar on Chain is one of the cleaner hard-money stablecoin designs in the tracked set: no bank reserve story, no fiat {{term:custody}}custodian{{/term}}, just rBTC locked inside Money On Chain and a protocol that lets holders move back into Bitcoin-sidechain collateral when they want out. That simplicity cuts both ways. DOC's reserve logic is easier to trust than most small fiat tokens, but its market depth, chain reach, and surrounding infrastructure are far thinner than mainstream dollar stablecoins. At roughly $5 million in circulation, DOC matters less as a payments network than as proof that Bitcoin-collateralized dollars are still alive outside Ethereum's orbit. Mechanically DOC is a {{term:cdp}}CDP{{/term}} against rBTC with {{term:overcollateralization}}overcollateralization{{/term}} and permissionless {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} for rBTC.
