## Overview

DUSD is Fluid Finance's banked-cash USD stablecoin on Arbitrum; self-reported oracle caps mint to safeguarded bank balance. Fluid Finance SA's DigitalDollar is the rare USD stablecoin that holds the float in literal client-safeguarded bank cash — not {{term:treasury}}T-bills{{/term}}, not commercial paper — at regulated European banks, with theft and fraud cover from Lloyd's of London. The differentiator is the smart-contract verifiedOffchainAssetBalance: an oracle publishes the bank balance to Arbitrum, and the contract refuses to mint DUSD beyond that ceiling. It is the only tracked DUSD that is a single-chain fiat coin, deployed only on Arbitrum at modest ~$3M supply with about 1,000 holders. The structural trade-off is that 'verifiable 24/7' is still self-reported via the issuer's oracle, not an independent {{term:attestation}}attestation{{/term}}, and Fluid Finance SA remains a single Swiss entity rather than a regulated bank. {{term:custody}}Custody{{/term}} sits at regulated European banks and {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} burns DUSD on-chain against an IBAN credit.

1:1 USD cash held in client-safeguarded accounts at regulated European banks; accounts are ring-fenced and bankruptcy-remote from Fluid Finance SA, with theft and fraud cover via Lloyd's of London. The DUSD smart contract enforces a verifiedOffchainAssetBalance ceiling so minted supply cannot exceed the attested treasury balance.

## Peg Mechanism

1:1 mint and redemption against USD wired from a user IBAN to a Fluid Finance treasury account; an oracle publishes the safeguarded-bank balance on-chain and the contract refuses to mint above that balance. Redemption burns DUSD on-chain and credits USD back to the user's IBAN.
