## Overview

FIDD is Fidelity Digital Assets' OCC-chartered dollar stablecoin backed by cash and short-term {{term:treasury}}T-bills{{/term}} at BNY Mellon — a regulatory beachhead from a $5.8T asset manager. When the third-largest asset manager on earth issues a stablecoin, the signal overwhelms the product — and the product is deliberately boring: 80% T-bills and 20% cash at BNY Mellon, OCC national trust charter, and a B+ safety grade. At $48M circulating, FIDD is a rounding error on Fidelity's $5.8 trillion AUM, which is precisely the point — this is a regulatory beachhead, not a market play. The 65-rated offchain {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} backstop with same-day settlement is institutional-standard but unremarkable. Four DEX pools with primary coverage and a 66 liquidity score suggest Fidelity is building the on-chain plumbing methodically rather than chasing TVL.
