## Overview

FXD is Fathom's {{term:cdp}}CDP{{/term}}-minted dollar on XDC, {{term:overcollateralization}}overcollateralized{{/term}} by XDC and stabilized by {{term:liquidation}}liquidations{{/term}} plus a stability module. Fathom Dollar gives the XDC ecosystem a native overcollateralized dollar backed by XDC and Fathom collateral-pool positions. It is tracked for chain coverage and DefiLlama visibility despite modest scale. The design is familiar CDP plumbing — mint against collateral, burn to repay, liquidate weak positions, and use a stability module for peg support — but the collateral base and chain liquidity make it materially riskier than larger Ethereum CDP systems.
