## Overview

Agoric's overcollateralized dollar minted from IBC ATOM/stATOM vaults with a PSM for 1:1 IBC stablecoin swaps; tiny strategic Cosmos coverage. Inter Stable Token (IST) is the Agoric platform's native fee token and an overcollateralized crypto-backed stablecoin governed via Inter Protocol. IST is minted two ways: through vault positions collateralized by IBC-bridged ATOM and stATOM with a stability fee and Dutch-auction liquidations, and through a Parity Stability Module (PSM) that swaps approved IBC stablecoins (USDC, USDT, DAI) for IST 1:1. Total circulating supply is ~$1.4M across Agoric native, Osmosis, Archway, and Secret Network deployments — well below Pharos's $5M soft threshold, but tracked as a strategic Cosmos-ecosystem entry where overcollateralized fiat-pegged designs remain rare. Pharos uses DefiLlama as the primary supply feed; coverage today reflects the Osmosis IBC slice only until upstream tracking broadens to Agoric native. ## Peg Mechanism

Two complementary mechanisms on Agoric: (1) Inter Protocol vaults mint IST against IBC-deposited crypto collateral with a stability fee, liquidation ratio, and Dutch-auction liquidations; (2) the Parity Stability Module swaps approved IBC stablecoins for IST at 1:1, anchoring the peg. IST is also the Agoric platform's native fee token.
