## Overview

mantraUSD is MANTRA's native settlement dollar and a direct wrapper of M0's M token. The product directs reserve yield toward ecosystem incentives rather than embedding yield accrual in the token. Reviewed on-chain M custody covered outstanding mantraUSD, while legal seniority and whole-book financial assurance remain upstream questions. An unprivileged address could qualify for conversion to wM through the deployed SwapFacility, but direct M output required an approved swapper. The operational administrator is a 3-of-5 Safe, yet a separate externally owned address controls token upgrades and can replace the mint logic. That upgrade path remains a local dependency even when parent backing is fully represented.

M0 M tokens held by the chain-local extension; the M parent provides the Treasury-backed issuance and custody layer.

## Peg Mechanism

M-extension wrapping and unwrapping conserve the deposited M claim. The current SwapFacility restricts direct M output to approved swappers; an unprivileged sample canSwapViaPath(child,wM) returned true while child-to-M returned false. This is technical conversion eligibility, not a sent transaction or a cash redemption right.
