## Overview

A GDP-weighted basket of 20 currencies on Secret Network, defended by overcollateralized CDPs — conceptually ambitious, but hard to acquire at ~$1.1M circulating.

SILK is what happens when you cross a stablecoin with a macro index fund and deploy it on a privacy chain. Pegged to a GDP-weighted basket of 20 global currencies — USD at 30%, CNY at 22%, EUR bloc at 14%, plus JPY, GBP, INR, and fourteen others — SILK doesn't track any single fiat currency, making it one of the most conceptually ambitious stablecoins tracked on Pharos. Built entirely on Secret Network using the SNIP-20 privacy token standard, every transaction is private by default with optional auditability via viewing keys. The stability architecture layers {{term:overcollateralization}}overcollateralized{{/term}} lending (ShadeLend) via {{term:cdp}}CDP{{/term}} vaults, stablecoin {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} pools, bounded minting with DAO governance, and ShadeDAO bonds — a belt-and-suspenders approach deployed on a chain that most DeFi users have never touched. At ~$1.1M in circulation on a single unproven chain with no {{term:bridge}}bridge{{/term}} to Ethereum, SILK is simultaneously the most interesting basket stablecoin in crypto and one of the hardest to actually acquire.

## Peg Mechanism

NAV tracks a governance-set basket of global currencies and commodities (currently USD ~33.5%, EUR ~22.9%, Gold ~18.7%, JPY ~11.1%, CAD ~7.5%, BTC ~6.3%) priced via Band Protocol feeds, with weights selected on GDP, monetary-policy health and growth and adjustable through SILK Assembly peg migrations; stability maintained via overcollateralized ShadeLend minting, bounded conversion minting, redemption pools, collateral redemptions/liquidations, and ShadeDAO bonds
