## Overview

Cap's ERC-4626 staked wrapper of cUSD where operators borrow reserves against restaker collateral and repay above hurdle — adding operator, restaker, and vault risk on top.

stcUSD is the {{term:yield-bearing}}yield-bearing{{/term}} version of Cap cUSD. Users stake cUSD into an ERC-4626 vault while Cap operators borrow reserve assets against restaker collateral and repay with yield above the hurdle rate. Cap's design attempts to keep stablecoin holders whole through {{term:overcollateralization}}overcollateralization{{/term}} and slashing, but stcUSD still adds operator, restaker, strategy, and vault risk on top of the underlying cUSD basket and its {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} mechanics.

ERC-4626 staked cUSD shares backed by Cap's reserve basket and operator-lending framework; yield comes from reserve yield and overcollateralized operator borrowing

## Peg Mechanism

Users stake cUSD for stcUSD; the stcUSD exchange rate appreciates versus cUSD as yield accrues, and final USD exit inherits cUSD proportional basket redemption and Cap's slashing protections
