## Overview

the staked, cooldown-gated wrapper over Aegis YUSD that capitalizes BTC delta-neutral funding into a rising share price. sYUSD is the staked version of Aegis YUSD. It inherits YUSD's BTC spot plus short-{{term:perpetual}}perpetual{{/term}} hedge design and off-exchange {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}} assumptions, then adds a {{term:yield-bearing}}yield-bearing{{/term}} vault wrapper and a seven-day unstaking cooldown on top. That makes it meaningfully different from base YUSD even though both ultimately depend on the same {{term:delta-neutral}}delta-neutral{{/term}} {{term:basis-trade}}basis trade{{/term}} machine running on {{term:funding-rate}}funding rate{{/term}} income.

YUSD deposited into Aegis's ERC-4626 staking contract; the wrapper remains backed by YUSD while funding-rate income accrues through the rising exchange rate

## Peg Mechanism

Deposit YUSD to receive sYUSD; the exchange rate versus YUSD increases as rewards accrue, while unstaking enters Aegis's documented 7-day cooldown before YUSD can be withdrawn
