## Overview

Cardano's only MSB-licensed dollar pairs clean BitGo-custodied reserves with one of the worst peg records on Pharos, dragged down by absent DeFi depth. Anzens USDA offers the cleanest backing on Cardano — 60% USD cash, 40% U.S. {{term:treasury}}Treasury{{/term}} bills, all {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}}-managed by BitGo Trust under a FinCEN MSB license — yet it has logged hundreds of recorded depeg events, with deviations spiking as far as +2558 bps. The problem isn't the backing; it's the chain. A single thin DEX pool and Cardano-only deployment mean there is no meaningful arbitrage infrastructure to enforce the peg, producing a C- safety grade despite reserves that would earn a much higher mark on any chain with real DeFi depth. The only exit is KYC-verified bank transfers through Anzens for {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}}, with multi-day settlement and no quick on-chain escape hatch. USDA is proof that sound reserves are necessary but nowhere near sufficient — you also need a market that can actually trade the thing.
