## Overview

USDCx is Movement's USDC-backed dollar issued via Circle's xReserve smart contract, with CCTP/Gateway {{term:bridge}}bridging{{/term}} to and from USDC across 30+ chains — partner-issued plumbing, not direct Circle paper. USDCx is Movement Network's native dollar stablecoin, launched on M1 mainnet in March 2026 through Circle's xReserve infrastructure. Each USDCx is backed 1:1 by Circle USDC held in a Circle-deployed xReserve smart contract on Movement, and can be moved to USDC across 30+ chains via CCTP and Gateway without third-party {{term:bridge}}bridges{{/term}}. The issuer is Move Industries, the team behind Movement, rather than Circle directly — making USDCx a partner-issued stablecoin whose ultimate solvency inherits from USDC's regulated reserves and Circle {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}}. Circulating supply is still modest (~$2.8M), positioning USDCx as ecosystem rails for Movement-native DeFi, neobank partners like KAST, and Global South payment corridors.

1:1 USDC held in a Circle-deployed xReserve smart contract; the underlying reserve is Circle USDC, whose backing is short-duration U.S. Treasuries and cash held by regulated custodians.

## Peg Mechanism

Users mint USDCx on Movement by depositing USDC into Circle's xReserve smart contract, which issues USDCx 1:1; redemption burns USDCx and releases the underlying USDC back to the user. xReserve also enables 1:1 transfers between USDCx and USDC across supported chains via Circle CCTP and Gateway without third-party bridges.
