Unitas's USDu routes 80% of USDC deposits into Jupiter LP tokens hedged by CEX perpetual shorts through Copper and Ceffu, a {{term:delta-neutral}}delta-neutral{{/term}} {{term:basis-trade}}basis trade{{/term}} dressed up as a stablecoin. Unitas routes 80% of USDC deposits into Jupiter LP tokens — a basket of BTC, ETH, SOL, and USDC earning Jupiter Perps trading fees — while hedging the spot exposure with CEX {{term:perpetual}}perpetual{{/term}} shorts through Copper and Ceffu off-exchange {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}} settlement. The remaining 20% sits as margin for the short positions, making the entire reserve an active trading strategy with exotic collateral quality classification and zero idle assets. Singapore-domiciled with Accountable providing real-time zero-knowledge solvency proofs, USDu's transparency is a genuine upgrade over the 'trust us' school of yield products. Deployed on BSC and Solana with a peg score of 99 and only six depeg events, the machinery works — but the 80% dependency on USDC means every dollar of backing passes through Circle before reaching Jupiter's perps market, adding a layer of counterparty risk the hedge fund framing might obscure.
