## Overview

VNX's VGBP is on-chain British sterling on Base and Celo at 172K GBP circulating — a proof of concept that GBP can exist on-chain at all, under FMA TVTG licensing. VGBP occupies one of the emptiest niches in stablecoins: on-chain British sterling, where the competition is essentially nobody. At 172K GBP circulating on Base and Celo with $33K in DEX TVL, this is less a stablecoin and more a proof of concept that GBP can exist on-chain at all. The AREVA-audited GBP cash reserves at Swiss and Liechtenstein banks under FMA TVTG licensing provide more {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}} infrastructure and formal {{term:attestation}}attestation{{/term}} than the token's market presence would seem to justify, and same-day issuer {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} adds a clean exit path nobody is using. DEWS Watch band at 18 flags thin-market fragility rather than reserve concern. The UK's stablecoin regulatory framework remains the wildcard — if it invites high-street banks to issue tokenized sterling, VGBP's first-mover advantage evaporates overnight. Until then, VNX holds the field by default in a market nobody has shown up to contest.
