## Overview

WBRL is Ripio's wrapped Brazilian real stablecoin across six EVM chains — a second BRL rail from a Latin American issuer, with reserve transparency as the weak point. WBRL is part of Ripio's wFIAT suite: local-currency stablecoins issued across Ethereum, Base, World Chain, BNB Chain, Polygon, and Gnosis. It passes DefiLlama's price and circulating-supply gate and gives Pharos a second BRL rail from a Latin American issuer, alongside larger BRL assets already tracked. The contract address is consistent across supported EVM chains via {{term:bridge}}bridge{{/term}} infrastructure, simplifying token discovery. The weak point is reserve transparency: Ripio describes local-currency {{term:custody}}custody{{/term}} backing and a {{term:redemption}}redemption{{/term}} path, but no reliable per-token WBRL attestation is currently public.
