Tether's Swiss-vaulted LBMA gold token rides USDT's brand and BDO Italia attestations but is steadily losing share to PAXG's bar-level transparency.

Tether's gold token is backed 100% by LBMA Good Delivery bars in Swiss vaults with BDO Italia {{term:attestation}}attestations{{/term}}, operating under El Salvador's CNAD jurisdiction with institutional-regulated custody — the same transparency framework as USDT, applied to physical bullion. XAUT commands the largest share of the tokenized gold market, which sounds impressive until you notice that share has been eroding as PAXG and newer competitors chip away at the margins. Deployed on Ethereum only, XAUT works exactly like you'd expect from Tether: a market that trades on brand recognition over the granular bar-level transparency that Paxos offers with PAXG's allocated serial numbers.
