## Overview

Gnosis Chain's native gas token is an economic claim on bridged DAI, so its peg quality cascades from Maker/Sky and Gnosis bridge infrastructure.

xDAI is the native gas token of Gnosis Chain and is economically tied to DAI {{term:bridge}}bridged{{/term}} into the network. Unlike a normal ERC-20 stablecoin, its canonical supply is native-chain accounting, so Pharos lists the WXDAI wrapper as a traded contract rather than using it as the supply contract. The reserve view is a DAI {{term:bridge}}bridge{{/term}} dependency, making peg quality depend on Maker/Sky DAI — itself a {{term:cdp}}CDP{{/term}}-backed dollar — and Gnosis bridge infrastructure. It is more infrastructure dollar than issuer token.
