Yuzu's yzUSD packages curated DeFi yield strategies into an {{term:overcollateralization}}overcollateralized{{/term}} {{term:yield-bearing}}yield-bearing{{/term}} stablecoin — 50% Pendle PT/LP positions, 20% Euler/Morpho lending, 20% other DeFi strategies, and a 10% USDT0 buffer — all classified as exotic collateral on an unproven chain (Plasma). A perfect peg score and zero depeg events sound reassuring until you note the absence of any DEX liquidity and queue-based {{term:redemption}}redemptions{{/term}} scoring just 56 on the backstop, with the yzPP junior tranche absorbing first losses. The strict KYC gating — only accredited, qualified, or institutional investors can mint and redeem — makes yzUSD one of the most access-restricted stablecoins in DeFi, which explains both the zero depeg events (few holders means few sellers) and the non-existent secondary market. It's a yield aggregator that happens to maintain a dollar peg rather than a stablecoin that happens to generate yield — the distinction matters when things go wrong.
