Weekly Recap #23

USDT's Yield Reading Won't Hold Still

Executive Summary

USDT's top risk flag this week was a data gap, not a depeg: yield printed 0.51%, then 8.29%, then 4.12% on $183B unmoved. Nine names hit DEWS ALERT while PSI shrugged at 92.2.

The week's top risk flag was not a break but a blank: USDT's 08-15 yield warning pinned 4.12% APY against a $183.05B market cap and stamped it opportunity-evidence-missing, an alert on the largest stablecoin that the analytics could not corroborate. PSI opened at 91.1 on 08-11 and closed at 92.2, never leaving BEDROCK, so USDT's marquee event was a telemetry shrug rather than a wobble.

USDT ran through every column this week. Its yield feed read 0.51% APY on 08-11 and 8.29% by 08-12 before settling near 4.12% for four straight days, the analytics equivalent of a thermometer that cannot decide between hypothermia and fever. Supply lurched alongside it: down $1.24B on 08-11, a $1.01B reversal on 08-12. And Tron did the rest, with 106 blacklist events freezing $51.53M, more than double the prior week's $24.52M despite 83 fewer actions, led by a single $32.56M seizure on 08-12.

The counter-story was resolution. USDA cleared its 802 bps break after 869 hours, and XAUm closed 918 bps in 23 hours; only pmUSD held on, 3949 bps below peg at $57.41M mcap. The quieter concern lived in DEWS, where nine names sat in ALERT by 08-17 as RLUSD, XAUT, TUSD and USX all shed liquidity in one session, and the Bank Run Gauge sank to -12.6.

Capital barely moved in aggregate: mcap rose 0.34% to $316.41B on the week yet landed flat at -0.06% versus last week. XAUT was the largest mover at +$2.67B even as its liquidity score fell 64 to 56, while USDC added $832.43M on 08-12 then bled $437.61M by 08-17. USDe's liquidity slid 59 to 50 as TVL dropped $85.37M to $58.72M.

Twenty of twenty-one daily triggers resolved as hits, with one pending and zero misses. With nine names in ALERT and the gauge at -12.6 heading in, the next trigger is whether DEWS converts to the first grade transition after zero recorded this week.
